This creamy white hot chocolate is delicious on it's own but once you add Chila 'Orchata it gets even better! This liqueur adds the perfect amount of cinnamon and is way creamier than it's more well known competitor (Rum Chata).
INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup milk - I used 1% but I'm sure this would be just as good with a non-dairy alternate
1/4 cup Chila 'Orchata
1/8 - 1/4 cup white chocolate chips - start with 1/8 cup and work up from there if you'd like. Just a warning, it can be VERY sweet if you do 1/4 cup so it's just based on preference
1 teaspoon vanilla
Add your milk to a sauce pan and let it warm on the stove. I used a medium low heat. Add the white chocolate chips and vanilla and stir until it's all melted together. Add in the liqueur at the very end so you don't cook out the alcohol, just enough to warm it up. Pour into a coffee cup and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Let me know if you try this recipe out and what you're currently reading!
P.S. I'm currently reading Killman Creek by Rachel Caine which is the sequel to Stillhouse Lake. I highly recommend this series! I was glued to my book in the first one and the same thing is happening with Killman Creek!
